As we enter 2025, it’s good to take a moment to reflect on the past year to appreciate how we got to this moment and where we may be headed in 2025 year. And 2024 did not disappoint.
2024 proved to be an exciting milestone year for BigScoots. In addition to celebrating our 14th anniversary, the year was marked by new service strengths, expansion of our brand within the WordPress community, new partnerships and programs, and more. With so much to share, let’s jump into some of the most significant highlights.
New Service Strengths
BigScoots made large gains to both services offered to our clients and how we can better deliver those services.
- Unique Cloudflare User Capabilities: As one of the earliest adopters of Cloudflare hosting for WordPress, BigScoots used its rich Cloudflare expertise to roll out several industry-unique WPO user controls for clients with Cloudflare Enterprise accounts, including Custom Cloudflare Enterprise Settings, Cloudflare Analytics Dashboard, Advanced Hotlink Protection, and more.
- New Patchstack Security Validation: This past year, BigScoots became one of the first hosting partners to complete a successful security audit with Patchstack, a vulnerability detection and mitigation solutions provider for WordPress sites. Patchstack audited the BigScoots Cache Plugin to validate its defense against the risk of security vulnerabilities. 🛡️
- New Network Architecture: BigScoots made a complete network infrastructure upgrade in 2024 to better protect client services and to prepare for future growth. BigScoots moved to a modern spine-leaf architecture that delivers new advantages for scalability, performance, efficiency, and redundancy. 🌐
- Increased Services and Support Staffing: Our team grew significantly larger with the overwhelming majority of new staffing going to development, engineering, and inbound service and support teams to not only maintain, but strengthen, our client service and support promise as we grow.
Brand Expansion in the WordPress Community
Until the beginning of 2024, BigScoots grew almost exclusively from word-of-mouth referrals. True story. The company focused almost entirely on developing client service, with little to no attention to marketing.
While that focus on service has not changed, BigScoots decided last year to tell its story to a broader audience, which introduced BigScoots to the larger WordPress community.
- BigScoots Road Trips: BigScoots hit the road this year sponsoring and attending events such as WordCamp Phoenix, Tastemakers Conference in Chicago, WordCamp New Jersey, Cloudfest in Austin, TX, WordCamp USA, and even OpenInfra in Indianapolis. ✈️
- Online Events: BigScoots sponsored several notable online events in 2024, including WordSesh, WooSesh, the Agency Summit, and others.
- Media and Podcasts: As the community got to know BigScoots, audiences wanted to learn more. This led to interviews with Within WordPress, The WP Minute, Do_the Woo, and WPfounders, and more. 🎙️
- Associations: BigScoots also supported several WordPress associations and groups to open up more conversations with community members, including The WP Minute, Post Status, and Guildenberg, and even became a WordPress Foundation “Sustainer” sponsor.
- Recognition: For the 5th consecutive year, BigScoots made the Inc. 5000 at Number 3,250 in 2024! The Inc. 5000 list represents companies that have driven growth while navigating pressures and challenges, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to rank together with such fantastic companies across America. 🎙️
2024 was just the beginning. We are already planning bigger and more exciting activities and participation for 2025.
New Partnerships and Programs
BigScoots has always worked in close collaboration with our amazing clients and partners alike. But this past year, we had the good fortune to not only launch new partner program opportunities but we were honored to announce some significant new partner developments.
- New Exclusive Preferred Hosting Provider for Mediavine: Mediavine and BigScoots came together to announce new hosting plans built exclusively for Mediavine publishers. Built in collaboration with the Mediavine team, these hosting plans for Mediavine aim to enhance performance and monetization for independent content creators by accelerating ad delivery. New plans include Journey by Mediavine Hosting Plans for new publishers with up to 50,000 monthly impressions and Mediavine-Exclusive Hosting Plans for publishers with over 50,000 monthly impressions. 🚀
- New Partner Directory: Partner collaboration is key to us delivering great service to our clients. That is why we were excited to launch a new partner directory. This list of WordPress partners encompasses trusted providers that we work with directly or indirectly, and that feel confident recommending to clients for service.
- New Partner Case Studies: BigScoots continues to show mutual success with different partners, as demonstrated by Partner Case studies such as Email Crush, Media Wyse, WP Bullet, and Once Coupled.
- New Agency Partner Program: BigScoots began to roll out a new Agency Partner Program aimed at building new sales and marketing collaboration with web development and design agencies and technology solutions providers. 2024 in Conclusion
2024 was an exciting year for BigScoots as our team grew, our services expanded, and our name began to circulate more often in conversations around the WordPress community, setting the stage for even bigger things to come in 2025 for our clients.
The best part? We were able to do this without sacrificing our service promise. No staff reductions. No cutting costs. No shortcuts to success. Instead, we doubled down by investing in additional service staff and an even stronger hosting infrastructure.
We understand that we cannot do this without our incredible clients and partners. That is why we will always put client service and support first.
