Perfmatters

About

Slow WordPress sites have higher bounce rates, fewer conversions, and rank worse in search engines. The lightweight Perfmatters plugin was developed by two brothers passionate about WordPress to speed up your sites. Its primary focus is to resolve those frustrating Google Core Web Vitals warnings and give you more control over how individual assets load.

Perfmatters was designed from the ground up using a modular approach. This means nothing runs unless you turn it on. This allows you to test optimizations as you go and mix and match features as needed alongside your existing plugins, hosting services, etc.

Some of its most popular features include:

  • Easy quick toggle options to turn off resources that shouldn’t be loading.
  • Disable scripts on a per post/page or site wide basis with the Script Manager. Toggle on MU mode to take it a step further and disable entire plugins.
  • Defer and delay JavaScript, including third-party scripts.
  • Automatically remove unused CSS.
  • Preload resources, critical images, and prefetch links for quicker load times.
  • Lazy load images, iframes, CSS background images, and enable click-to-play thumbnails on videos.
  • Host Google Analytics and Google Fonts locally.
  • Change your WordPress login URL.
  • Disable and limit WordPress revisions.
  • Add code to your header, body, and footer.
  • Optimize your database (revisions, drafts, trash, spam, transients, etc.).
